Summary

This project will disseminate the results of the study, which addressed the status of people with disabilities in Islamic theology and jurisprudence, and its relevance to the beliefs of Muslims as revealed in the detailed practical rulings in Islam.

Our collaborator for this project is the Department of Theology at the University of Leiden, Leiden, the Netherlands led by Prof. P. S. van Koningsveld who heads the Department of History of Religions, and is professor of History of Islam in Western Europe in the Faculty of Religious Studies. This study is conducted by Dr. Mohammed Ghaly whose research focuses mainly on Islamic law and theology, especially as it concerns Muslim minorities living in the West, medical ethics in Islam, and the training of Imams in the West.
