Prof. Jenny Hewison did her first degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, but her PhD (University of London) and first academic post (University of Durham) were in Psychology. She began to combine Psychology with research into healthcare in the early 1980s, and has held her present post, as Professor of the Psychology of Healthcare in the School of Medicine at the University of Leeds, since 2000.
Prof. Hewison has longstanding research interests in reproductive health and genetics, in the ways parents use health and education services, and in developing methods to incorporate service users’ perspectives into policy development and planning. |
