Prince Salman Center for Disability Research in cooperation with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology is proud to organize the " First Scientific Forum for Disability Research," and the theme this year is “Disability Research: "Design and Methodology", from 1 - 2 Muharram 1432 AH / 7-8 December 8, 2010. (8 am-5pm). The Forum will be held in King Abdulaziz City Science and Technology.
A number of distinguished scientists, researchers, academics, and experts in the field of scientific research will be presenting lectures and workshops focusing on the methods of design and structure of research in the domain of disability research from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and from overseas.
The merit and strength of any scientific work lies in the soundness of the design and methodology utilized in the structuring the research. Research that focuses on the many domains that are studied in disability is no exception. It is therefore paramount that researchers and scientists be well versed in the multitude of design and methodologies that exist. This gives direction and systematizes the research. The method chosen will affect the findings and the results. The goal of this year’s forum is to introduce and explore some of the designs and methodologies that have been used in disability research to help improve and develop stronger and better disability research.
Topics that will be addressed include:
- Experimental and Quasi-Experimental Designs
- Group Designs
- Single Subject Research Designs
- Action Research
- Mixed Methods
- Survey and Descriptive Designs
- Statistical Analysis
